Is it normal to feel increase in temperature over the exposed area?

Yes. When in use you can feel a soothing warmth from FlexBeam due to the temporary increase in local blood circulation. If this feeling becomes uncomfortable stop the program immediately.

Can FlexBeam be used on pets?

Yes. FlexBeam can be used on pets. Begin by shortening program times to 3-5 minutes.

Can I use FlexBeam over medical implants?

Yes. Generally, FlexBeam is safe to use over plastic implants. Caution should be used if you have metal implants. Do not exceed recommended treatment times.

Can I use FlexBeam if I am taking medication?

Yes. FlexBeam is generally safe to use if you are taking medications but seek advice from your healthcare practitioner prior to use to be sure.

Can I use FlexBeam if I have heart problems?

Yes. But always use caution if you have a heart condition. Avoid placing FlexBeam over the heart and shorten your program times. If you have concerns, seek advice from your healthcare practitioner before use.

Can I use FlexBeam over breast implant?

No. We don’t recommend using FlexBeam over the breast or breast implants.

How do I clean FlexBeam?

Clean FlexBeam when the mains power is off.

It is only necessary to clean the device when it becomes dirty. To clean simply use a damp cloth to wipe it off or use an alcohol wipe. Do not use other cleaning solutions or products that contain ammonium chloride as it may damage the housing. Never spray cleaners directly on the device, as this may cause cracking of the plastic, AS THIS MAY VOID THE WARRANTY.

Can FlexBeam burn my skin?

No. FlexBeam cannot burn the skin. This is because the therapeutic effect from FlexBeam is due to light, not heat.

Is red light therapy safe?

Red light therapy is considered to be safe. Similar to sunlight, photons of light give you energy and improve your well-being. 

Red light therapy has been used since 1967 and has become more widespread since the ‘90s with advances in LED technology.

Thousands of clinical studies support the safety and effectiveness of red light therapy, including by organizations like NASA.

In 2018, the FDA even added certain classes of red light therapy devices as ‘exempt’ due to the inherent safety of the technology.

When do I need to be careful using FlexBeam?

FlexBeam is safe to use in most situations but there are some times when you need to be careful. 

If you are light-sensitive take care and begin by shortening program times. 

Consult your healthcare practitioner prior to use if you:

  • are pregnant 
  • are currently undergoing chemo/radiotherapy with active cancerous tumors
  • have thrombo-embolism or bleeding  
  • have any acute systemic infections
  • have a heart condition

Never look directly into the lights during use, powerful invisible infrared light is being emitted. We’ve provided safety goggles to wear if you are using the device within 30cm of the eye.

Could using FlexBeam make me feel worse?

Although there are no known side effects of red light therapy, for some long-term issues you may notice a temporary increase of your symptoms as your body starts to heal. This will usually only last for a short time.

Can I share FlexBeam with other people?

Yes. By all means share it with your family and friends. You can clean FlexBeam with a damp cloth or cleaning wipe between uses if you need to.

Can I use FlexBeam over open wounds?

No. For hygiene reasons do not place FlexBeam over an open wound.

Can I use FlexBeam for headaches?

Yes, but we don’t recommend placing FlexBeam on the head. Due to systemic effects, using red light therapy on another area of the body, such as the gut, may have a positive effect on headaches.

Can I use FlexBeam during pregnancy?

It is best to consult your healthcare practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant.

Does FlexBeam come with guides for use for different applications?

How long should I use FlexBeam each day?

Most sessions range from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. Check out our guides for details.

When will I feel a difference?

You may begin to notice the effects immediately or within the first few days. In some cases, like if you are seeking support for a long term problem, then it may take a few weeks.

Does FlexBeam produce the same benefits as an SAD light?

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) can be treated using SAD lamps. These are full-spectrum lamps with more wavelengths of light than the red and near-infrared light that FlexBeam uses. 

There is growing evidence that red light therapy is an effective therapy for depression and anxiety, some of the main symptoms of SAD.

What time of the day should I use FlexBeam?

You can use FlexBeam any time. The session will leave you feeling more relaxed and balanced. Some people may find that they are very energized after a session. If you are experiencing this then you may prefer not to use the device late at night.

Should I use FlexBeam over my clothes?

No. Light can’t penetrate well through fabric so you’ll get the maximum benefits using FlexBeam directly on the skin.

What’s the difference between FlexBeam and a far infrared sauna?

The main difference between your experience using FlexBeam vs using an infrared sauna is that FlexBeam does not emit heat. 

FlexBeam uses red and near-infrared LEDs for maximum effects. An infrared sauna uses light of different wavelengths which also emit heat. The principle on which they work is quite different.

Does FlexBeam have FDA approval?

Not yet. FlexBeam is currently classed as a wellness device as defined by the FDA document “General Wellness: Policy for Low Risk Devices – Guidance for Industry and Food and Drug Administration Staff”.

Can FlexBeam be used on tan and deep skin tones?

Please avoid using FlexBeam over irritated skin. For tanned and darker skin tones, reduce the time of exposure from ten minutes to five minutes to learn how your skin reacts to the energy emitted by FlexBeam.

Can FlexBeam be used over tattooed areas?

Please exercise caution when applying FlexBeam over tattooed skin, although there is no evidence of adverse effects from using FlexBeam or other LED near-infrared emitting devices on tattooed skin, dark ink can absorb the energy emitted and produce skin discomfort and blisters.

Can FlexBeam be used on tan and deep skin tones?

Can Red Light Therapy boost my mood?

Yes, red light therapy can help improve your mood, especially if you are feeling down due to physiological reasons.

One of the reasons you feel down can be low levels of serotonin, leptin, and ghrelin. This is rarely the only reason for feeling blue, but it is an important factor.

While we try to get the device to you wherever you may be, there have been some countries that have made this a bit difficult.

Russia – We can only ship to a Company that has an import license.

Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, and North Korea – Charges such a high VAT and Duty charge that our customers have refused shipments and we have to destroy the devices.Because of these difficulties, have decided to stop taking orders for those regions until we can solve the issues.
